Our little runaways

This last Saturday morning Dallin & Jensen decided they were
going to run away. Jensen actually started formulating the plan
Friday night. Now the thing you have to understand about
Jensen is that when he comes up with an idea he really gets into
it. So just as the sun came up Dallin & Jensen were up packing
their backpacks. Clothes, socks, pillow, they even thought of their
scriptures, and snacks. Rhett and I played along with them to
see how far they would take this. We told them they couldn't go
until they did their chores. They did (even faster than usual)!
So finally off they went. When they started out they seemed
unsure of what to do and where to go. A friend of theirs was out
riding his bike and D & J told him they were running away. This
friend was amused and told his brother and 2 friends they had
over. So they started following them. Mykala couldn't take it
and decided to follow them (with out being seen). The next thing
Rhett and I know is that all the girls went following. So now
Rhett and I get in the car to see where they all are. After a little
searching we find them close to the school about a mile away.
They see us and start running. They were easy to spot with
their trail of friends following them on their bikes and scooters.
It ended up that at one point we couldn't find them, we stopped
at a member of our ward's home who was outside and asked if
he had seen our little runaways. He had not. After an hour of
searching we rounded them all up and headed them in the direction
of home. Now the funny thing is, at church the next day news had
spread that D & J had run away. It was a hot topic of conversation!
I think too, that D & J got some appoval from their friends, and their
"cool" level went up a notch.
